I'm back, baby!

I know I've been gone for a VERY long time... please forgive me, Amanda! And I know Dan has been pining for me... even though he's in Ontario not reading anyone's blog or posting on his own.
Being back in PEI is great, work is fine, not enough hours quite yet but it's coming. I've started teaching Jr. church and absolutely love it.
I'm not sure what to blog since life is back to normal and I'm used to only blogging the exciting moments... I guess when one happens, that'll be the next time I blog... hopefully something happens soon or Amanda will have a fit and disown me!
Well, I have a headache AND I'm at Dave and Kelly's so I suppose I shouldn't be such a snob and get back to being a guest... although I am in the living room by myself watching ER while everyone else is in the kitchen playing cards!!!
Apparently my cookies have been disabled (whatever that means) so that really is my excuse for not blogging, whenever I figure out how to enable my cookies again, chocolate chip or oatmeal whichever, you'll be hearing more from me, unfortunately Dan.

Jokesy!

Hehe... so you know how I said that yesterday would be my last day in Ontario... well, I'm kinda still here...
I always hate leaving and was toying with the idea of staying another day but I was convinced that I should leave today because of the rain coming tomorrow, but then... my cousin, Samara, came home from work last night and she had bought a new straightner on her way home and firmly stated that I couldn't leave because she was going to straighten my hair tomorrow (today), so... here I am still in the 'Jax... but I have straight hair!
Yes, I am fickle and am persusaded easily! But the car is now packed and I absolutely must leave tomorrow. Now I just pray the weather will be good...

In which Bev has a blast at her aunt's house

Just no one has hurt feelings!
I have been in Ajax for the past week and it has been great, I think today will be my last full day and I will begin the long trek home, although I don't have as far as Jonny to go!
Not sure if any of you have family similar to mine, we are quite a unique bunch and we have a great/weird time together. Weird meaning if you hung out with us you would think that we were absolute freaks. Allow me to elaborate, for example last night my aunt and I were in the kitchen watching TV (the kitchen, you say, watching TV? Yes, they have a TV in almost every room of the house, which made it awesome at Christmas time cuz when the guys were watching their stupid sports shows the girls could go and watch regular TV!) and BJ (one of the cats) jumps up on the chair beisde my aunt and starts looking around for scaps. Now you have to understand the BJ is a little bit mentally incapacitated and has been found at times to be staring at walls, looking at nothing in particular, walking into walks for no apparent reason, etc. Well, the tendency in our family is to begin mocking BJ the moment an opprotunity arises, such as this one. So we begin with, 'let's verbalize BJ's thoughts' ie, he wants to take over the world. But we start doing it in an English accent, for some reason we think that people who want to take over the world are British... too much Bond influence, I suppose. Well, it starts getting silly, and you know when you start getting those 2- in- the- morning- giggles? The girls will understand! Well, they started at 11pm... it was great fun! It might not sound very funny, but it's one of those had- to -be- there moments. But if you were there, you might just have thought they we are pathetic group of people and began to cry for the baseness of our humour .
I was thinking this morning that it's always hard to leave home and you always hate to go. Well, my aunt and uncle's house is a place that I definately consider home, and I was thinking that it'll be crappy to leave tomorrow because I'm not sure when I'll be back. Before November that is, when my cousin gets married!
Well, I'm off to the Mandarin for lunch with my aunt and Samara... gotta go Sam's calling!
Cheers!

Wherefore at thou...

... Mr. Darcy?
All the girls have just figured out that I FINALLY just finished watching Pride & Prejudice. What a great movie, of course my favorite line is, "You have bewitched me, body and soul." I bought it ladies, so we'll be getting together soon upon my return to have a chick flick night.
I know Shauna will agree and relate, but where have all the Mr. Darcy's gone? I was having a good converastion with a certain Mr. Hughes the other day, and you know when you have the feeling that you're just kinda coasting through this part of your life til the next stage? I think for single friends this stage in life is the hardest and we want to get through it fast to get it over with. You know... real life begins once we're married? So false, but that's the way most of us feel (self included) most of the time. It has been a challenge for me at times to really embrace life, and love this single stage cuz once it's gone, baby, y'ain't gettin' it back! I often joke that I'm so busy I don't have time for a boyfriend, but if my 'Mr. Darcy' made himself known, I'm sure I would make the time!!!
Looking forward to the next stage in life, glad it hasn't happened yet because it don't think I would have had the opprotunity to do half the things that I have done in this short life. You can thank the Lord and all His wisdom for that!
Had a great weekend! Went to Pearson Airport on Saturday morning to hang out with the gang going to Israel... was so tempted to go... even had my passport on me, which is strange, usually I don't keep it in my purse but there it was! After that, hung out with Tim Hughes for the afternoon then we went to Leaside Bible Chapel for a Praise and Worship night, it was great... first time there, but most of the gang there are former Greenwood people so I knew just about everybody! Got a wicked headache, borderline migrain, at the end of the night, still had to drive an hour home via the 401, not fun having a headache then all those lights shining everywhere! Didn't make it Rossland Ridge in the morning cuz I still felt sick, so I missed Catherine, Chrissy, etc. So now I'm just having a peaceful time til I start on my long way home... which I thought would be tomorrow, because I thought tomorrow was Wed but alas it's only Monday today... never gotten 2 days ahead of myself before! Can only mean one thing... I've been off work for far too long!
P.S. Val, can you send me that blog that you had told me about, forgot the name of it.

Foreman wants me to mention that I saw him on the weekend

Also forgot to say that I saw Jordan Webb as I was driving through the intersection of Charlotte and ? Reid maybe... he might have been on his way to work. So Val can you tell him that was me, since no one recognized me that weekend! And I do look rather incognito with my shades on!!!
So proud of myself that I found my way to the Yorkdale Mall with no difficulties. Met up with a dozen of my good friends from back home that now reside in S. Ontario, including my bro and his girlfriend. We ate at the Pickle Barrel, where strangly enough they serve no pickles and there's is no faint smell of vinegar in the air... although Scott and Alanna brought up the song 'Pepper, salt, and vinegar'... Scott gets geek of the week for that... and a lifetime membership to the Can-hang-with-Bev- anytime Club!!! I ate so much food and then we get in to the story telling time... ie 'let's remember the good ol' days' and I start laughing so hard I thought I would literally bust a gut, real pain folks, but totally worth it!!! Never in my life!
Thanks to everyone for driving so far and kudos to Grae for hanging out with Al at the Mall since 2 o'clock... Ben, what a surprise to see you and Amanda... Alanna, you WILL plan my wedding! Love ya!
More good times to follow... there always is!

Sweet Fellowship

What an awesome weekend!!! Started on Thurs night when I went back to Ange and Mike's in the 'Croft and stayed there for the night. Left for Peterborough in the am, went to an awesome leadership conference at KLBC (a most excellent Bible College, by the way!), saw a wack o' people that I would never have seen otherwise. Good visits all round! Crashed at Hez's after the conference, then at Aunt Jan's for a couple of nights... thanks so much for Ptbo hospitality! Had sweet fellowship again at Edmission Heights Bible Chapel... wished we could have had a longer coffee break that morning, didn't get long enough visits for sure! Had dinner with Hez that night, went over to Nate and Kari-Lynn's for a good long visit. Monday got to see Dave and Rachel (prego!!), Jim and Gerri (thanks for feeding me!), Brad, Tanya, and Liam (too cute, got pics of ALL the babies Amanda!), Joti, Evan and Amanda, then last but not least Derek Frew (engaged!), taught him how to work a blog so hopfully he comments!
Tuesday had to say good bye to Aunt Jan :(, had a great visit with Val, Lael, and Aria (who slept in my arms pretty much the whole time... not cuz I'm boring Dan, cuz she's a month old!), lunch at Curry Village with Marie, picked up Hez from school, went to KLBC to say the rest of my good byes and pick up Matt MacLeod's pants that he left at the Salmon's when they were there for Meagan and Caleb's wedding... can someone tell him I have them?! Thanks, Noel! Court... send me Tim's phone number or email!!!
Now I'm Ajax for the next week or so and finally I will head back to the Island, but not before having a few more good times!
Totally stoked about tonight guys!
Tell ya'll about it on the morrow...
